Do You Need a Dentist?
A Christian philosopher named CS Lewis said that when she had toothache said nothing to his mother, because although she gives you a pill that would cause the pain to stop, she too would take to the dentist. The problem is that, according to him, the dentist would not be content to deal only with tooth pain, but also of others that did not hurt. This is because the dentists always want to do a complete treatment.
In this particular aspect, God is like a dentist. When someone searches because of some problem, he is not content to just solve that problem, but passes to move in all areas of one's life that is in need of restoration. God never makes a treatment by half. Or he comes across a person's life, making it a new being, making it becoming Son of God, or it does nothing. His treatment is the most complete in existence. God is an amazing "dentist".
However, despite their lives "decayed" because of sin, not many people come to God, especially when they discover that his treatment is very expensive. Such people have reason to think so. Treatment of God, in fact, is very expensive. The Bible says we are all sinners: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Rom 3:23). It also says that our sins, spiritual decay we, eternally separated us from God, becoming his guilty enemies: "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God; and your sins have hid his face from you, that He will not hear "(Isaiah 59:2). Our spiritual decay, the sins that displease both, our budget did get very expensive and there are no resources for us to pay it.
But what many people do not know is that God knows our situation and he has provided the payment so that we could do the treatment. To do so, sent Jesus Christ, the incarnate God: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). He, being God and man, was able to pay our infinite account with his own blood: "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God" (1 Peter 3:18a). Jesus' death on the cross of Calvary was the payment for our sins and his resurrection was the evidence that God accepted his sacrifice: "For fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has ordained and believed before all men by raising him from the dead "(Acts 17:31); "Who was delivered for our offenses and raised again for our justification" (Romans 4:25).
Now, whoever believes in Jesus, taking him as Lord and Savior, experiencing God's forgiveness and the "restoration" of his life previously rotted by sin shall see the cross of Christ "channel" of their communion with God and is convinced of the "extraction" of his guilt: "therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand; and rejoice in hope of the glory of God "(Rom 5.1,2). If this guilt remained, would certainly take you to hell: "and do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Mt 10:28).
What are you hoping to get this as urgent and necessary treatment? Sit in the chair now faith, open his mouth in prayer and ask God to forgive you of your sins, Christ comes to dwell in your heart as Lord and Savior and that make your life all the restoration work that needs to be done "If, with your mouth confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart, you believe that God raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved" (Romans 10:9).
After that, the problems of this life, no doubt, will continue emerging. But to God who sees beyond appearances, you will always have a beautiful smile in your heart will become pure and full of hope. Go today to the "real dentist", the Lord Jesus Christ.
"But as many as received Him (Jesus), to them gave His power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" (John 1:12).
Believe in Jesus and pray to him. Here is a way you can pray: "Lord, I know that I have sinned and need your forgiveness. I believe the Lord is God and died for me and rose from the dead. I ask your forgiveness and invite you to come into my heart to be my Lord and Savior. Amen. "
